BATUM ANNOUNCES END OF CAREER: 2 great summers are coming

In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, the legendary French basketball player Nicolas Batum talked about his career, and he especially touched on the 2026 Olympic Games.

In three years, France has a good chance to say goodbye to a constellation of experienced basketball players who are already in their late playing years, but on the other hand, they are waiting for the new young star Victor Wembanyama, who should be the first pick in the Draft this year.

Along with Rudy Gobetrt, Evan Fournier and Nando De Colo, Nicolas Batum could be the leader of the national team, which will have a good chance on its floor.

“We are coming back, we have a good team, and we have the Olympics at home ahead of us. That I will come back and retire from the national team after the Olympics. That’s for sure, but I have two more summers where I have a secure NBA contract. Two great summers are coming,” said Batum.

This Klipers co-player is now 34 years old, and at the time of the games, he will be 37. However, his desire to play basketball in the NBA league is not waning.

“The NBA suits me. I love this league and as long as I have a chance to stay I will take advantage of that opportunity. I’m in the best league in the world, in the best team in the world, and I want to use that gift,” added Batum.
