Novak Djokovic, the world’s number one tennis player, recalls the 2019 Wimbledon finals that he played against Roger Federer.
The Serbian player admits that Roger was the better player during the match even though Novak won.
In any sport, it is not uncommon for the better team or player to lose. This is what happened in that famous final at Wimbledon in 2019, where two tennis legends, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer played an astonishing match that the Serb managed to win.
During a very interesting interview with 60 Minutes, Novak recalled the match and he claimed that Federer was better and that he should have celebrated:
” I beat him 13-12 in the 5th set. The sets that I won were all won in tiebreaks. Overall, if you see the stats, he was the far better player in every aspect, but I won the match. So that actually tells you you can still win if you pick and choose which moments of the match you’re peaking and playing your best when it matters. ”
Current No. 1 won that game 7-6, 1-6, 7-6, 4-6, 13-12.
