Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal, after a long and exhausting match, managed to secure a place in the semifinals of the Australian Open. After four hours of fighting, Rafael managed to defeat Denis Shapovalov, with the result of 3:2 – 6:3, 6:4, 4:6, 3:6, 6:3.
Although Nadal took a 2-0 lead in sets, young Denis returned to the match and took the Rafi set away thus extending the match.
“Bull from Mallorca” played the first two sets without any problems in all styles and easily reached 2:0 with a break.
When the third set was played, Nadal took the lead, but in the fifth game of the set, Shapovalov took the service away from the Spaniard and managed to take the set away from him, prolonging the match and reducing the advantage.
In the fourth set, Denis dominated the field, made a break, saved it until the end, and equalized at 2:2.
In the fifth deciding set, Nadal found a way to return his game to its level, he managed to break the rai, easily saved it, and completely deservedly triumphed.
Rafael Nadal will play for the finals with the better player from the match between Gael Monfils and Matteo Berrettini.
