NADAL MADE EVERYONE CRY: I had to stop, I can't do it anymore

Rafael Nadal announced that he will miss his favorite tournament, Roland Garros, this year.

What saddened everyone was his statement that he would have to take a break of several months.

“Unfortunately, I will not be able to play at Roland Garros. I didn’t make that decision, but my body,” said Nadal in front of a large number of journalists.

“I don’t know how much longer I won’t be able to train. Maybe three, maybe four months. I believe that this is the right decision, because of my feelings and happiness. I had to stop, I can’t do it like this anymore,” adds Rafa.

Nadal points out that this season is over for him, and that 2024 will be the last in his playing career.

“It could happen that at the end of the year, for example, I will play in the Davis Cup. And to be ready to wait for the start of the next season. “I think it will be my last year in my career. That’s my current idea, but I still don’t want to say goodbye to playing tournaments and my career,” said Nadal.

Rafael has been out of action since the second round of the Australian Open.

“I’m fine, but sad. I’m still at a high level tennis-wise, but physically I’m not. I have to accept it and move forward. There are many things in life that make me happy. I should be grateful for all the nice things that have happened to me. Although my head doesn’t want it, my body has said ‘enough’ for now. I don’t know what will happen next year, some things I can’t control. It will be difficult to be competitive at slams, I’m not an irrational person. But I’m not negative either. I will try to give myself the opportunity to compete again at the highest level for titles”, the clay king remains optimistic.

The fact that makes everyone sad is that Nadal has never missed Roland Garros in his career, and he has played since 2005 and won it 14 times.

Rafa turns 37 in June.
