The winners of the 2025 SJA British Sports Awards have been announced, with the ceremony shown live on Sky Sports.
For the second year running, the event took place in the Sky Sports News studio and was shared widely online, celebrating achievements across 12 categories.
SJA President Darren Lewis and committee member Mayowa Quadri hosted the event, introducing each award and revealing the winners.
The main awards, Sportsman, Sportswoman and Team of the Year – were chosen by SJA members. This year’s top honours went to Rory McIlroy, Chloe Kelly and the Lionesses.
McIlroy claimed the Sportsman of the Year award for the second time, following his key role in Europe’s Ryder Cup win and his Masters victory.

Arsenal and England star Chloe Kelly won Sportswoman of the Year after helping her club win the Champions League and her country lift the Euros trophy.

The Lionesses took Team of the Year again after retaining their Women’s Euros title in Switzerland.

Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald received the Services to Sport off the Field of Play Award for his leadership in guiding Europe to back-to-back wins.
Lionesses goalkeeper Hannah Hampton received the SJA President’s Award for her strong performances at the Euros.
The Outstanding Sporting Performance Award went to the Red Roses after they won the Women’s Rugby World Cup on home soil.
Lionesses striker Michelle Agyemang and heavyweight boxer Moses Itauma were named Breakthrough Athletes of the Year.
The Bill McGowran Trophy for para sport achievements went to para-cyclist Fin Graham and shot putter Sabrina Fortune, both of whom followed up Paralympic golds from Paris 2024 with World Championship wins.
The SJA Chair’s Award was given to cycling legend Geraint Thomas, recognising his remarkable career and leadership as he retires from the sport.
The Sky and Kick It Out Equality and Inclusion Award, now named after the late Lord Ouseley, went to Jack Grealish for his work as a Special Olympics ambassador raising awareness of disabilities.

Pole vault world record holder Mondo Duplantis won the first International Sports Person Award.
The SJA Sport for Change Award went to the Nottingham-based charity Support Through Sport.
