The Island Car Club organised the 6th Round of the National Hillclimb Championship at Dawret il-Mellieha, a venue known amongst enthusiasts as Pennellu, despite the less-than-ideal weather predictions, which added an element of unpredictability and excitement, 90 drivers bravely took part.

In his Radical, a high-performance sports car known for its speed and agility, Terence Vella was the fastest, followed by Christian Azzopardi in a similar Radical model and Mark Micallef in his V8 Radical.

In her Fiesta, the Fastest Female, Tara Falzon, achieved this title based on her impressive speed and skill. The Fastest Classic, Roberto Gauci, won in the classic car category. Nicholas Micallef was the Fastest Driver on a Front Wheel Driven Car, and Joseph Cutajar’s well-known Cosworth-powered Escort MK2 was the fastest rear-wheel driven car and Marshals’s Choice. The fastest +60 was David Grech, the fastest -25 was Nicky Gauci, and the Fastest 4WD and Street Class was Josef Calleja in his Subaru Impreza. Chris Xuereb clocked the quickest time of the day and was also the Fastest Guest.
