Maltese hockey teams impress in friendly matches

Several Maltese hockey teams are currently playing international friendlies as foreign teams visit the island for training camps.

The Maltese men’s national team drew 3-3 with University College London, with Luke Bajada scoring all three goals for Malta in a standout performance.

The women’s national team narrowly lost 4-2, with both goals scored by Nicole Zammit.

Qormi Daikin enjoyed a strong 8-0 win over Italian side SSD Unime. Lucas Brincat scored a hat-trick, Luke Bajada scored twice, and Julian Zahra, Bikrambir Sandhu, and Steve Tanti also got on the scoresheet.

GREE Żurrieq Wolves Hotsticks also faced SSD Unime and came away with a 2-2 draw.

In the youth games, SSD Unime’s under-16 team lost both their matches – 6-2 to Marsaskala and 4-2 to Qormi.
