Hernán Crespo has officially returned as head coach of São Paulo FC, signing a contract that runs until 31 December 2026. The Argentine manager previously led the club to the 2021 Campeonato Paulista title and now returns following the recent departure of Luis Zubeldía.
Crespo will be joined once again by his trusted assistant Juan Branda and goalkeeping coach Gustavo Nepote. Also part of his technical team are assistant Víctor López and fitness coaches Federico Martinetti and Leandro Paz.
Club president Julio Casares highlighted the strong bond between Crespo and the club from his first spell, calling him “a great professional” and noting that “this is the right moment to bring him back.” Sporting director Carlos Belmonte added that Crespo “has always identified with the club” and returns with even more experience and success.

Since leaving São Paulo, Crespo won three trophies with Al-Duhail in Qatar, including the national league title, and most recently led Al Ain to the 2023/24 AFC Champions League title, securing qualification for the FIFA Club World Cup.
With Crespo back at the helm, São Paulo now look to write a new chapter of success under a familiar and winning figure.
