Qormi Daikin have won the national hockey championship for the 17th time, beating GREE Żurrieq Wolves Hotsticks 7-4 in a thoroughly convincing display.
Going into the match, Andre Ghio’s side needed just a single point to seal the title, but they went on to take all three in emphatic fashion. Tommy Kok was the star of the show, helping himself to a hat-trick, while Nathan Pace Gasan chipped in with two goals. Kyle Micallef and Julian Zahra also got on the scoresheet to round off the win.
Żurrieq gave some response through Christ Agius, who scored twice, with Nicky Runza and Stefano Schembri also netting for the losing side.

The final whistle sparked joyful scenes among Qormi’s players, staff and supporters. The champions still have two league matches to play, against Floriana and White Hart, before the trophy is officially presented. Karl Chircop and James Mizzi were the umpires.
Elsewhere in the championship, Floriana Young Stars ran out comfortable 5–0 winners against White Hart. Deemer Rapinett, Karl Chircop, Marvin Vella, Joe Ellul Turner, Justin Farrugia and Anton Saliba were all among the goals as the Greens put on a dominant performance. Alessandro Amore and Keith Calleja officiated that match.
