GREE Żurrieq Wolves Hotsticks are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. Commonly known as Hotsticks, the club was founded in December 1975 by Tony Caruana Smith, who brought together a group of young boys to introduce them to hockey.
Their first official appearance came in May 1977, when they entered two youth teams in a competition organised by the Hockey Association Malta. From the following season, they began competing regularly and soon found success in junior competitions.

By the 1980/81 season, Hotsticks had joined the senior national league. Since then, the club has enjoyed major achievements, winning five national league titles, four Super Cups, and six Challenge Cups.

To celebrate this special anniversary, the club will be holding a commemorative event on 19 September.
