Pat Pace Academy started their Italian tour in style with an exciting 15–10 win against Nettuno 45 in Anzio. The Maltese side showed strong teamwork, energy and determination from start to finish.
The team got off to a fast start, scoring four runs in the first inning. Nettuno quickly replied with four of their own, making it a close and lively match. As the game went on, Pat Pace Academy’s consistent batting and solid pitching made the difference.
Cody Tabone led the way on the pitcher’s mound, throwing four innings and striking out nine batters, keeping the opposition under control. In the final inning, Amy Summer Elliott stepped up to close out the game, staying calm under pressure and helping the team to victory.

The batting was just as impressive. Elliott hit both a single and a double, bringing in important runs. Kole Bartolo and Lucia Zhang were reliable at the top of the lineup, regularly getting on base and scoring. Samuel Moreno stood out behind the plate with strong defensive work and also reached base in every at-bat, picking up a hit himself. Later in the game, Matteo Ciappara added a timely single.
Even though Nettuno made a late push and scored 10 runs, the Maltese side held firm. Their win came thanks to steady pitching, good fielding, and well-timed hits.

After the final out, both teams shook hands and smiled, showing that youth baseball is not just about the result, but also about sportsmanship, teamwork and enjoying the game.
