Italian rider Francesco Bagnaia, who is the two-time and current MotoGP champion, clinched victory at the Japanese MotoGP on Sunday. This win reduced Spaniard Jorge Martin’s advantage in the championship standings to a mere 10 points. Martin secured second place. Bagnaia’s triumph marked his eighth win of the season, having also claimed victory in the sprint race.
“I’m extremely pleased; I gained 11 points this weekend, which makes me very happy,” expressed Bagnaia. He noted, “Today Jorge (Martin) was incredibly fast, and I focused on managing the race. The first 10 laps were astonishing,” as he discussed leading from the first lap and his anticipation for the next race, hoping to maintain the same successful strategy.
