ASA unveils three pillars for 100th anniversary celebrations

The Aquatic Sports Association (ASA) has officially launched its plans for celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2025, unveiling three key pillars that highlight its rich history, commitment to the community, and vision for the future.

The three pillars:

    A modern emblem representing aquatic sports—water polo, swimming, artistic swimming, and open-water swimming—honors the ASA’s founding in 1925 while embracing innovation.
  2. Engaging Activities
    A dynamic program designed to involve athletes, members, and supporters, celebrating the ASA’s legacy.
  3. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiatives
    Partnerships with organizations such as the Foodbank Lifeline Foundation and the National Blood Transfusion Service to give back to the community.

Highlights of the celebrations

The ASA has announced an array of exciting initiatives for 2025, including:

  • Podcast Series: Discussions with leading sports figures on aquatic sports.
  • School Drive: Promoting aquatic disciplines in schools in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
  • Sports Conference: Featuring international speakers debating key issues in aquatic sports.
  • Centenary Stamp: A commemorative issue in partnership with Maltapost.
  • 100 Years for 100 Swimmers: A landmark event led by Neil Agius, celebrating ASA’s legacy.
