Ferrari to supply engines for Cadillac F1 team starting in 2026

Ferrari has announced a multi-year agreement to supply engines and gearboxes to the new Cadillac Formula One team starting in 2026, pending final approval from Formula One and the FIA. This collaboration is part of the sport’s new engine era and follows Sauber’s transition to becoming the Audi factory team.

The partnership is between Ferrari and Andretti Formula Racing LLC, with confirmation of Cadillac’s entry as the 11th team expected soon. General Motors (GM), which backs the Cadillac team, has also registered as a power unit manufacturer with plans to become a full works outfit by the end of the decade.

Mario Andretti, the 1978 U.S. F1 World Champion, will serve as a director on the team’s board. GM and its partners, including TWG Global, will pay a $450 million anti-dilution fee to secure their entry, shared among the existing 10 teams. Ferrari currently supplies engines to its works team and the U.S.-owned Haas F1 team.

The deal underscores Ferrari’s expanded role in the sport as GM prepares to establish Cadillac as a competitive force in Formula One.
