Duncan Micallef, President of the Malta Motorsport Federation, attended the FIA General Assembly and Elections 2025, which were held on 12 December in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The annual gathering brought together representatives from national motorsport authorities worldwide to discuss governance, development and the future direction of international motorsport.
During the FIA General Assembly, Micallef held a series of meetings with senior FIA leadership and members of various FIA commissions. These discussions focused on strengthening institutional links and exploring opportunities to further support the development of motorsport in Malta within the FIA framework.

The assembly also confirmed the continued involvement of Maltese representation within the FIA judicial structure. Dr Michael Grech was reconfirmed for a further four year term as a judge on both the FIA International Court of Appeal and the FIA International Tribunal. Dr Grech has served on these bodies since 2012 and previously acted as deputy to Professor Guido Demarco.
The reconfirmation maintains Malta’s presence within the highest levels of FIA judicial governance and reflects continuity in experience and expertise. The participation of Malta Motorsport Federation officials at the FIA General Assembly highlights the federation’s ongoing engagement at international level and its role in representing Maltese motorsport within global decision making structures.
