Renowned hockey coach Mike Irving in Malta

Renowned British hockey coach Mike Irving was in Malta last week to take part in some coaching clinics held for PE teachers and coaches. He took part in a one-day seminar where he talked about technique and tactics in this very fast game. In addition, he met some Physical Education teachers who teach in government schools where he outlined the value of hockey as part of their lessons.

Irving has a 30 year experience in international hockey particularly in the United Kingdom. He currently manages a group of players at Loughborough University while he has 12 years of experience discovering young talented players and enhance their potential.

Apart from coaching, Irving takes part in various educational seminars with the main aim to increase the popularity of hockey not only locally but also internationally.

Mike Irving won the best European coach in this sport while he was praised for the specialized programme about hockey coaching which was prepared by himself.
