Qormi Daikin triumphs in first-ever 5s hockey tournament

Qormi Daikin won the first-ever 5s hockey tournament organised by the Malta Hockey Association, finishing top of the standings with 12 points. They won all six of their matches, dominating every game they played.

On the second day of matches at the Kordin hockey complex, Qormi defeated Floriana Young Stars 7-3, White Hart 12-0, and won 3-0 by walkover against GREE Żurrieq Wolves Hotsticks.

In other results, Floriana Young Stars beat White Hart 8-2. At the end of the tournament, David Agius, president of the Hockey Association, presented the cup to Qormi Daikin player Nathan Pace Gasan.

Meanwhile, a friendly match was held between the female teams of Qormi and Marsaskala Heat, with Qormi winning 3-0.

In the hockey 7s, Rabat defeated Floriana 1-0, with Matthew Buhagiar scoring the only goal.

Finally, Qormi Daikin were presented with the under-16 league cup, despite losing 5-4 to Marsaskala Heat.

Eyan Toledano scored two goals, while Kyron Carabott, Damien Lupu, and Alessandro Piscopo added others for the winners. Dion Fenech, Liam Carabott, Zackary Farrugia, and Aydin Aquilina scored for Qormi. After the match, David Agius presented the cup to Qormi Daikin captain Dion Fenech.
