This past weekend, the Royal Malta Golf Club hosted The Scratch and Kinnaird Trophy, an annual event that once again attracted a strong turnout of participants, all competing under favourable spring weather conditions.
In the Kinnaird Trophy, Frederick Johansson emerged victorious with an impressive score of 150 points, finishing ahead of Peter Naudi, the top-placed Maltese golfer, who recorded 100 points. Sam Azzopardi followed closely in third with 75 points, while Ivan and Pavel Lunev secured fourth and fifth place respectively.
Meanwhile, in The Scratch Challenge, Andy Borg delivered a standout performance, topping the leaderboard with a total of 250 points. He was followed by Noah Gratil with 150 points, and Aleks Vagimov who claimed third place with 100 points. JJ Micallef and Ruud Critien finished just behind in a tightly contested competition.
The awards were presented by Angelo Attaguile, director of Interni Italia, the event’s sponsor. The ceremony took place in the presence of Stewart Davies, captain of the Royal Malta Golf Club.
The tournament once again highlighted the growing popularity and competitive spirit of golf in Malta, bringing together local and international players in a celebration of sporting excellence
