The Malta Football Association (MFA) staff team emerged victorious in the 2024 edition of the Traditional Boxing Day Football Tournament, organized by the Malta Sports Journalists Association (MSJA).
This year’s quadrangular tournament featured teams representing the MSJA, the Malta Football Referees Association (MFRA), the Malta Football Association staff, and Members of Parliament (MP).
H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, attended the event, expressing gratitude for the donations collected in aid of L-Istrina. Also present were the Minister for Education, Sport, Youths, Research, and Innovation, Dr. Clifton Grima, and Opposition Leader, Dr. Bernard Grech.
The tournament featured exciting matches, with the following results:
• MSJA 1-0 MP
• MFRA 1-2 MFA
• MSJA 1-3 MFA
• MFRA 6-2 MP
• MSJA 5-3 MFRA
• MP 1-5 MFA
The MFA team secured the championship, with MSJA President Clinton Buhagiar presenting the winning trophy to Dr. Angelo Chetcuti and the MFA players.
The event raised €1,300 for L-Istrina, with the MSJA thanking all participants and attendees for their support.
