Day two of the Games of the Small States of Europe began on a strong note for Team Malta, with two more gold medals added to their tally.
Gymnast Sophie St. John claimed the first gold of the day in the vault event, securing her third medal of the Games following her earlier team gold and a silver in the all-around competition.
Malta’s success continued in karate, where Luke Galea struck gold in the -84kg Kumite category with a 4-2 victory over Luxembourg’s Tiago Serra Rodrigues.
In the pool, Sasha Gatt added another medal to her collection, earning silver in the 1500m freestyle with a time of 17:04:08. This followed her impressive gold medal win in the 800m freestyle on Tuesday.
