Malta’s men’s rugby 7s team wrapped up their GSSE campaign, clinching the bronze medal with a commanding 21-12 victory over Luxembourg in the third-place play-off.
Zarrin Galea was the standout performer, crossing the try line an impressive ten times throughout the tournament. Christopher Dudman added six tries to Malta’s tally, while Josh Gatt also made a strong contribution with five.
Earlier in the day, Malta’s hopes of reaching the final were dashed after a narrow and disappointing 26-21 defeat to Monaco in the semi-final. Despite the setback, the team responded well to secure a deserved place on the podium and bring home another medal for Team Malta.
