The second match of the day at the National Stadium will see Żabbar St. Patrick take on Naxxar Lions, with both teams still looking for their first win of the 2025/26 YoHealth Malta Premier League season.
Despite not yet picking up three points, Aniello Parisi’s Żabbar side have shown promise in their opening two games, a narrow 2-1 loss to Sliema Wanderers and a well-earned 2-2 draw against Hibernians. Against Hibs, Żabbar impressed with their dominance in possession and created several chances, finding the net twice but also conceding twice.
However, they will be without South Korean midfielder Young Wom Im, who received a straight red card just five minutes after coming on as a substitute in their last outing.
Naxxar Lions, meanwhile, have suffered back-to-back defeats to Floriana and Marsaxlokk. Still, their performance in the second match was encouraging, and they arguably deserved at least a point based on the number of chances they created.
During the international break, Naxxar strengthened their squad with the signing of left-back Theo Seara Kruger, as they look to shore up their defence and get their first points on the board.
The last time these two sides met was last season, with Żabbar St. Patrick emerging 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Diogo Tavares and David Oliveira Souza.
