Tarxien Rainbows are undergoing a significant squad reshuffle during the January transfer window as the club looks to strengthen its chances of retaining its place in the Malta Premier League.
The Rainbows have already confirmed several departures, with several players either moving on permanently, returning to parent clubs, or having their contracts terminated as part of a major mid-season rebuild.
William J England has completed a permanent move to Birżebbuġa St Peter’s, while Johann Castano has joined Senglea Athletic, with both transfers now confirmed as done deals.
In addition, Tarxien have terminated the contracts of Tiago, Rafael, Luc Zongo, Willian Salomao, Ofufu, Tavinho and Jai Quitongo as they streamline the squad ahead of the second half of the campaign. Meanwhile, defender Gabriel Vella has returned to Ħamrun Spartans following the conclusion of his loan spell.
On the incoming front, the Rainbows have moved swiftly to reinforce key areas. Goalkeeper Aleksander Lubik has joined the club following his departure from Gżira United, bringing experience and depth to the position between the posts.

Tarxien have also secured the services of Portuguese midfielder Gilson Sequeira da Costa, while Panamanian striker Angelito Valverde has arrived on loan from C.A.I. Panama for the remainder of the season. Valverde’s arrival is expected to bolster the Rainbows’ attacking options as the club intensifies its battle to avoid relegation.
With further movement not ruled out before the window closes, Tarxien Rainbows appear determined to reshape their squad decisively to remain competitive during the crucial months ahead.
