Mosta won the Northern derby 1-0 against Naxxar Lions at Tony Bezzina Stadium.
Mosta took the lead in the 40th minute when Goncalves crossed for Agyemang, who scored into an empty net. Naxxar came close to equalising before half-time, but Akpan saved Farias’ header from a free kick.
In the second half, Naxxar had chances, with Maicon’s shot going just over and Akpan making a key save from Dos Santos. Mosta thought they had a second goal in the 68th minute, but it was ruled offside.
Mosta held on for the win, moving up to 6th in the Premier League, while Naxxar remain without a point after four matches.
