Żabbar St. Patrick claimed their second win of the season with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Balzan, extending their unbeaten run against them after a series of seven losses.
This result deepens Balzan’s ongoing struggles, with head coach Dave Rogers still absent from the sidelines and uncertain about his future.
Balzan took the lead after 12 minutes from a close-range effort by Benjamin Hili.
Żabbar equalized 5 minutes from the start of the second half with a well-placed header from Brian Gambarte, who connected with a cross from the left and scored from close range.
With 10 minutes remaining, Żabbar finally broke through, as Marcelo Santos headed in a cross from Vinicius de Paiva to give them the three points after seven consecutive defeats.
