Jake Grech has entered the all-time European scorers list for Maltese clubs, following his winning goal against Haverfordwest County of Wales, in the 1st Qualifying Round of the UEFA Conference League last Tuesday.
That strike, which secured a 2–1 victory for Floriana FC, brought his total to seven goals in UEFA club competitions, placing him alongside some of the most recognisable names in Maltese football history.
Grech’s European scoring journey began in 2021 with Hibernians FC, where he netted a brace against SS Folgore in San Marino and added another in the return leg. He later scored again for Hibernians in 2022 against RFS of Latvia.
In 2023, while playing for Balzan FC, he scored away to NK Domžale in Slovenia.
Since joining Floriana FC, he has added two more European goals: one against Tre Penne in 2024, and most recently, the crucial winner versus Haverfordwest County.

Malta’s top UEFA club competition goalscorers:
- Gilbert Agius – 11 goals
- Michael Mifsud – 9 goals
- Andre Schembri – 9 goals
- Jake Grech – 7 goals

Grech’s steady contributions over the years have earned him a deserved place in Maltese football’s European history books.
