Hibernians have reached an agreement to sign experienced Romanian goalkeeper Laurențiu Brănescu.
The 31-year-old, who previously spent several years on the books of Juventus, joins the Meridianbet FA Trophy winners following a recent spell with Romanian second-tier club CSM Ceahlaul Piatra Neamț.
Brănescu brings with him a wealth of international experience, having played in several countries including Italy, Scotland, Croatia, Cyprus, Hungary, Lithuania, and Greece. He featured for clubs such as Kilmarnock, Omonia Nicosia, HNK Gorica, Virtus Lanciano, and multiple sides under the Juventus umbrella, including Juventus U23.

In addition to his club career, Brănescu has also represented Romania at various youth levels, earning caps with the U15, U17, U18, U19, and U21 national teams.
His experience and leadership between the posts are expected to be a valuable addition to Hibernians as they prepare for the new season, with first duties being the UEFA Conference League Second Qualifying Round.
