Ħamrun Spartans have brought in two new foreign players who are with the squad, with a view to join the team ahead of the rest of the European commitments and the new season.
One of them, who have signed the contract on Thursday evening, is Ante Ćorić, a 28-year-old Croatian attacking midfielder with an impressive footballing background. Ćorić has played for several high-profile clubs including Dinamo Zagreb, AS Roma, Almería, VVV-Venlo, and FC Zürich. He featured twice in Serie A with Roma and made nine appearances in the UEFA Champions League group stages with Dinamo Zagreb during the 2015/16 season. He also came off the bench for Roma against Real Madrid in the same competition the following year.
Also training with the team is Stijn Meijer, a 25-year-old Dutch centre-forward. Standing at 1.90m, Meijer has gained experience across various European leagues, having played for clubs such as Almere City, Excelsior, FC Dordrecht, PEC Zwolle, SC Verl, and most recently FC U Craiova in Romania.

Both players are currently free agents and are being assessed by the club’s technical staff during their training stint.
The Maltese champions are working to streghten further the squad for the upcoming Europa League fixtures against Israeli champions Maccabi Tel Aviv.
