Valletta have reached an agreement to bring 30-year-old Brazilian striker Jefferson de Assis back to Maltese football.
Jefferson is a well-known figure in local football circles, having spent a significant part of his career in Malta’s top flight. He previously played for clubs such as Sliema Wanderers and Gżira United, and also had a spell in Gozo with Nadur Youngsters.
His return marks a notable addition to Valletta’s attacking options ahead of the new season.
In season 2022/23, with Gżira he finished as the league’s top scorer with 20 goals.
During his time in Malta, Jefferson de Assis scored no fewer than 70 goals in 137 appearances across all competitions.
The Brazilian forward is expected to join his new teammates for training this evening.
