Hibernians were knocked out of the UEFA Europa Conference League after a 5-1 loss to Spartak Trnava in Slovakia, bringing the final aggregate score to 7-2. The Slovakian side showed their quality on home turf, ending Branko Nišević’s journey in the competition.

Spartak Trnava took the lead in the first four minutes when Hibs goalkeeper Pawel Šteinbors made a mistake, giving the ball away and allowing Libor Holík to score. Just nine minutes later, a defensive error by Hibernians gave Skrbo space to double the lead.

Hibs had a chance to get back into the game after 15 minutes when they were awarded a penalty following a foul on Miullen. However, Kristensen’s effort was saved by goalkeeper Frelih. At the other end, Spartak Trnava also missed a penalty through Ďuriš in the 31st minute.

Hibernians managed to pull one back in the 37th minute when Miullen scored with a good shot after receiving a pass from Villela.

Spartak Trnava extended their lead just two minutes into the second half after another mistake, this time by defender Pedrao, allowed Tomic to score. Pedrao then accidentally scored an own goal seven minutes later when he tried to clear the ball with his head but ended up putting it into his own net.

In the 57th minute, Azango made it 5-1 with a powerful shot from outside the box.
