Gżira United and Balzan played to a goalless draw in their 360Sports Malta Premier Closing Round encounter at the Gozo Stadium on Friday.
With both teams already confirmed for the Bottom 6, they were eager to claim all three points. Gżira managed to break a run of two consecutive defeats against Floriana and Żabbar with this result, while Balzan recorded their third draw in four matches.
The first half saw little action before goal, but the tempo picked up after the break. Gżira’s Thaylor Aldama and Gabriel Bohrer Mentz tested Balzan goalkeeper Danilo Golovic, who was equal to the challenge. At the other end, Nicholas Pulis and Marcus Ndombasi came close for Balzan, but their efforts narrowly missed the target.
In the end, neither side could find the breakthrough, and they were forced to settle for a point each.
