Malta Sport can reveal that in the coming days, Birkirkara will unveil their new head coach, former Italian player and ex Cagliari coach Gianluca Festa.
In the coming days the club will be making an official announcement about their new head coach.
Gianluca Festa is a former Italian footballer and current coach, known for his solid defensive style. He played as a centre-back for clubs like Cagliari, Inter, Roma, and Middlesbrough, where he became a fan favourite in the Premier League.
After retiring, he moved into management, coaching teams in Italy and Greece, including Cagliari, Como, AEL, and Lamia.
Despite recent speculation around names like Gilbert Agius and Mario Muscat, Birkirkara ultimately opted for another experienced Italian coach.
Birkirkara will play their next YoHealth Malta Premier match on Saturday against Hibernians at the Tony Bezzina Stadium.
