Hibernians are currently third, level on 16 points with two other teams, but ahead on goal difference. They still need more points to guarantee a playoff spot, so this match is especially important for them.
Floriana have been in solid form recently, beating Gżira United 3-0 earlier in March and losing only once in their last nine league games. That loss came on 12 March, when they were beaten 2-0 by current leaders Birkirkara. Coach Darren Abdilla will expect his team to bounce back strongly.
Hibernians’ results have been up and down. They suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Żabbar St. Patrick but then beat Mosta 2-0, won 3-2 against Naxxar Lions, and drew 0-0 with Balzan. Coach Branko Nišević will be hoping his team can find more consistency as they aim for a playoff place.
