In the opening match at the Centenary Stadium on Tuesday evening, Marsaxlokk and Sliema Wanderers shared the spoils after a 1-1 draw, with a goal scored in each half.
Marsaxlokk took an early lead in the 4th minute through Redon Mihana, giving the Southsiders a 1-0 advantage at half-time.
Sliema Wanderers, determined to avoid a third consecutive defeat, responded after the break. In the 61st minute, Thiago Espindola found the net to bring the Wanderers level.
Despite enjoying the majority of possession, especially in the second half, Sliema were unable to find a winner, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw at the final whistle.
