Uruguay hit the crossbar twice, but not the target - zero against South Korea

The players of Uruguay were closer to a goal, but they did not manage to score against the persistent and fast representatives of South Korea – in the end, it was 0:0.

The fourth “zero” at the World Championship in Qatar. After the duel between Denmark and Tunisia, then Mexico – Poland, and Croatia and Morocco, the duel between the players of Uruguay and South Korea also ended with a 0:0 in Qatar.

After the opening few duels and starts, it seemed that we would have a great game with a lot of rhythm and goals, but the football players of the mentioned national teams deceived us…

We saw three great chances, and the first was South Korea’s – Ui-Jo Hwang was in a good position in the 34th minute, but he put the ball over the goal.

At the end of the first half, the experienced Diego Godin was close to scoring, but the ball hit the crossbar after a header from the experienced stopper.

During the second half, Federico Valverde launched a real projectile from 30 meters toward the opponent’s goal, it would have been the most beautiful goal of the World Cup so far, but the ball hit the crossbar!

Uruguay came out with a strong team, Luis Suarez and Darvin Nunez led the attack, and later Edinson Cavani entered the game, but the compact, persistent and tactically disciplined players of South Korea managed to win a big point.

Uruguay plays in the next round against Portugal, while Ghana and South Korea will meet.
