Another first for Maltese football as Ħamrun Spartans Football Club was chosen from among 108 clubs that reached the group stages across UEFA’s three major competitions to be featured in the weekly popular UEFA Magazine series.
This internationally broadcast TV mini documentary showcases club stories, exclusive interviews and the rich histories of clubs with truly special moments.
A film director, videographer and journalist were commissioned by UEFA and spent four days in Malta, capturing over seven hours of footage — from action to interviews and daily life at the club. The UEFA crew was accompanied by Malta’s very own UEFA photographer Domenic Aquilina.
The Ħamrun Spartans media team said in a social media post; ‘Out of all those hours of filming combined with footage from our own media team captured over the years, came 12 powerful minutes that illustrate the story of our glorious past and historical present. This is another prestigious moment for Ħamrun Spartans and Malta. It reinforces one undeniable truth: We are the undisputed history-makers of Maltese football’
