Inter secured their place in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals with a 4-1 aggregate win over Feyenoord, winning 2-1 on the night and extending their unbeaten UCL run at San Siro to 15 matches.
Feyenoord had a tough task ahead, trailing 2-0 from the first leg. Their slow start didn’t help, and they were quickly put under pressure when Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s long-range shot was saved by Timon Wellenreuther. Just five minutes later, Marcus Thuram gave Inter the lead with a brilliant solo run, smashing the ball into the top corner.
Despite needing goals to stay in the tie, Feyenoord rarely threatened, with Inter continuing to create chances. Thuram almost added a second, setting up Mehdi Taremi, but Wellenreuther made a great save. Feyenoord’s hopes were revived just before halftime when Hakan Çalhanoğlu fouled Jakub Moder in the box, allowing Moder to score from the penalty spot and reduce the deficit to two goals on aggregate.
In the second half, Inter were awarded a penalty when Thomas Beelen fouled Taremi. Çalhanoğlu made up for his earlier mistake by converting the penalty, sending it past Wellenreuther. Inter thought they had another penalty when Thuram was fouled again, but after reviewing the incident, the referee overturned the decision and booked Thuram for diving.

Thuram nearly scored moments later, beating three defenders before hitting the crossbar. However, the miss didn’t matter, as Inter comfortably advanced to the quarter-finals for the first time since 2022/23. Feyenoord’s disappointment continued, as they remain winless in their last nine away matches against Italian sides in European competitions.
