Thomas Tuchel, former Chelsea coach, had a dream debut as the head coach of Bayern Munich with a 4-2 win over Borussia Dortmund in “Der Klassiker.”
This victory allowed the current champions of Germany to take the top spot in the table from their biggest rival.
Tuchel had positive comments about his team’s performance after the match, stating, “We have to adapt to the rhythm better, we have to spread ourselves better and control the game better. We want more possession of the ball and more control over the match than was the case against Borussia.”
With Bayern Munich now at the top of the table, Tuchel must maintain the same position until the end of the season. “This victory means that we have risen to the top of the table,” said Tuchel. “That’s where we want to be and now we have a race until the end of the championship. We have to be at our level every week – once or twice. Such is life when you are at Bayern Munich. It is important that everything is in our hands.”
Bayern Munich’s next match in the Cup is against Freiburg.
