Former Ukrainian international, Andriy Shevchenko, has been elected almost unanimously as the president of the Football Association of Ukraine.
The former AC Milan and Chelsea player received 93 out of a possible 94 votes. Shevchenko, the all-time leading scorer for the Ukrainian national team, played 111 matches for his country from 1995 to 2012, scoring 48 goals.
He will replace Andriy Pavelko, who served two terms in this position and is currently facing embezzlement charges.
