Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has announced the extension of his contract with the Italian team beyond 2024. Leclerc has had a long association with Scuderia Ferrari, joining their academy in 2016.
After making his F1 debut with Sauber in 2018, he became a permanent member of the Ferrari team in 2019, achieving five victories and 23 pole positions since then. The length of the new contract remains to be confirmed.
“I am very happy to know that I will wear the Scuderia Ferrari racing suit for several more seasons. Racing for this team has been my dream since I was three years old: I watched the Monaco Grand Prix from a friend’s apartment window and always followed the red cars.
This team has been my second family since I joined the academy in 2016, and together we have achieved a lot over the past five years,” said Leclerc.
