Late Kalulu header denies Lazio win in Turin

Pierre Kalulu scored with the final touch of the game to earn Juventus a 2-2 draw against Lazio, stopping the visitors from completing their first Serie A double over Juve since the 1942/43 season.

Juventus came into the match in good form but struggled early on to break down a well-organised Lazio defence. Their first real chance came in the 16th minute when Gleison Bremer headed towards goal from Kalulu’s cross, but Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel made an excellent save.

Juventus thought they had taken the lead soon after when Teun Koopmeiners scored from outside the box, but the goal was ruled out for offside. Koopmeiners went close again, while Jonathan David also missed a good chance before half-time.

Lazio took the lead in stoppage time of the first half when Pedro Rodríguez scored via a deflection. The visitors then doubled their advantage just two minutes after the restart, with Gustav Isaksen finishing well after running onto a long ball.

Juventus pushed hard to get back into the game. Provedel continued to impress in goal, but Weston McKennie pulled one back with a header just before the hour mark. Both teams missed chances late on, with Lazio wasting a clear opportunity to seal the win.

In the sixth minute of stoppage time, Kalulu headed in from a cross to rescue a point for Juventus and keep their unbeaten home record intact this season.

Juventus remain three points clear of fifth place in the race for the final Champions League spot, while Lazio are now unbeaten in their last five away league matches.
