Federico Gatti scored a dramatic goal in added time as Juventus came back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 away to AS Roma. The result keeps their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League alive, although they have now gone four league matches without a win.
Roma faced a Juventus side that looked tired after playing a long two-hour match in midweek, when they were knocked out of Europe’s top competition by Galatasaray. Roma started brightly and had the first big chance. Niccolò Pisilli ran through on goal and forced a good save from Mattia Perin, before Lorenzo Pellegrini blasted the rebound over the bar.
Juventus responded but could not take their chances, as Francisco Conceição and Kenan Yıldız both missed from good positions.
The game remained fast and open. Donyell Malen was denied by Perin at the near post after a clever header from Gianluca Mancini. Both sides continued to attack, but Roma took the lead in the 39th minute. Pisilli passed to Wesley, who curled a superb shot into the net from the edge of the box.
Juventus equalised just two minutes into the second half. After a free-kick was only partly cleared, Bremer set up Conceição, who struck a powerful volley past Mile Svilar. However, Roma quickly went back in front. Pellegrini combined with Pisilli from a corner, and Evan Ndicka scored from close range.
Roma then made it 3–1 when Malen calmly chipped the ball over Perin after a perfect through pass from Manu Koné. It was his sixth goal since joining on loan in January.
Juventus did not give up. Jérémie Boga scored his first goal for the club after a cross was flicked into his path. Then, just when Roma looked set to win, Gatti scored from distance after a deep free-kick into the box, earning Juventus a late draw.
Roma are now three points clear of fifth-placed Como, while Juventus sit four points behind Roma in sixth place but remain in the race for a Champions League spot.
