Next Thursday, there will be a protest’s hearing filed by Hibernians against the result of the BOV Premier League match against Hamrun Spartans. The Spartans won the game 2-1.
The Paolites argue that Christian Rutjens, who was included as a substitute in the 78th minute, replacing Luke Montebello, was ineligible to play for the Spartans as he was due to serve a suspension.
Rutjens was sent off while playing for Floriana in a match against Hibernians on December 12, 2022. He missed the following game against Pietà Hotspurs, and in January 2023, he moved to Italy to join Foggia.
