The legend of Inter and the Argentina national team, Javier Zanetti, believes that Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona should not be compared.
Many media announced that the PSG footballer is now the best player of all time and point out that he has surpassed compatriot Diego Armando Maradona, who won the World Cup with the national team in 1986, but Zanetti disagreed with that.
“Messi did not beat Maradona. I don’t like those comparisons. I think we have to be grateful that two of the best players in the history of football come from our country. I don’t think Messi has changed. He just became more experienced, and he passed that on to the team,” Zanetti said.
Javier played for the Argentine national team from 1994 to 2011.
“The national team afforded us great emotions because we have been waiting for this title for many years. This team fulfilled the dreams of millions of Argentine fans around the world. It was a great final, which we will remember forever”, said Zanetti, the current vice president of Inter.
