CHELSEA WITHOUT STAR IN FINAL: Mount injured, misses game against Liverpool

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount will be out for two to three weeks due to an ankle injury.

Mount suffered an injury against Palmeiras, in the final match of the World Club Championship, after which Chelsea celebrated.

Thomas Tuchel spoke about the incident after Chelsea‘s 2-1 victory over Palmeiras:

– He got hurt. It was in one of the first actions, he had a race on the back post with Azpiliqueta. His opponent fell on his ankle and severely injured his ligaments, and he came to me and said that he felt stiff and painful. He did not know if he could continue, so we made a decision – said the German expert.

Thomas Tuchel’s team is crippled by injuries this season, so the German coach was worried that it was another serious injury, but as “Di Marzio” reports, the latest tests indicate that Mount will be able to get back on the grass before the end of March.

That means that the 23-year-old midfielder will miss the League Cup final match against Liverpool, which will be played at Wembley, on February 27.
