In a first friendly of a double header against Montenegro, the Malta Under 18 side went down by three goals to one after having taken the lead in the first half. Malta’s goal came after 25 minutes with some fine work from Aidan Zammit who then released Nicky Agius who had no difficulty blasting home.

However, Montenegro came out strongly in the second half and equalised on 53 minutes with a fine effort by Filip Perovic. After some good attempts from the locals who missed several chances to retake the lead, the talismanic Andrej Camaj gave Montenegro their first advantage in the match after 77 minutes. Camaj rounded off a fine 3-1 win for Montenegro three minutes from time.
