LIZARAZU BEFORE THE REMATCH IN MUNICH: Paris Saint-Germain will be better without Neymar

French football legend and former left back of the French national team and Bayern Bixente Lizarazu believes that Neymar’s injury will not be a handicap for Paris Saint-Germain in the rematch with Bayern.

PSG lost the first match 1:0 at home, and the decision on who will go on will be decided on Wednesday in Munich from 21:00.

“When the three greats Messi, Mbappe and Neymar play together, many times they don’t go back to the defense. This leads to a weakening of the defensive mechanisms, so the rest of the team has to run much more. With just Messi and Mbappe against Bayern, PSG will be more balanced as a team and the midfielders will work less than usual to win the ball back. The complete team will be fresher, and will not be less lethal.”

Lizarazu is a legend in France, with whom he was world champion in 1998 and European champion in 2000, and is also a legend in Bayern, where he spent nine seasons between 1997 and 2006. With the German club, he won six titles in the Bundesliga and the Champions League in 2001.

“I am looking forward to this match. It is very difficult to predict who will pass. In the first game, Kylian Mbappe’s injury was a heavy blow for PSG, but in just 20 minutes on the field, he showed how important and good he is. Maybe he is the best player in the world right now, he always finds a solution against any defense. It will be an open match, and the fact that both he and Sadio Mane are healthy is great news for all football fans,” Lizarazu concluded.
