Manchester City football coach Pep Guardiola said today that Liverpool is still the biggest opponent in the fight for the title in the Premier League and that he expects a difficult match.
- If you asked that question with 10 games to go, I would say that Liverpool cannot reach the top. But when we are in the position we are now and with the World Cup, anything can happen. I know what quality they have. It was always a difficult game and I don’t expect anything else – said Guardiola, BBC reported.
Manchester City football players will visit the Liverpool team on Sunday, in the match of the 11th round of the Premier League.
The two-time back-to-back champions of England are currently in second place with 23 points, while Liverpool are in 10th place with 10 points.
Last season, City won the title in the last round with a 3:2 victory over Aston Villa, and second place was taken by Liverpool, a point behind.
Liverpool won the League Cup and the FA Cup last season, while in the Champions League final they were defeated by Real Madrid (1:0).
- A few months ago, Liverpool fought for four titles, they had more shots, possession, everything and they lost in the final. This is the same team, the same coach, things can change. It’s part of the competition. I don’t look at good or bad moments, I analyze them as a team, always expecting the best from them – added Guardiola.
