Klopp, Van Dijk, and now Salah heading for the exit door at Liverpool?

Jürgen Klopp has stirred up quite a storm with his statement about leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. Similarly, captain Virgil van Dijk has spoken in a manner suggesting a similar decision. According to reports in the British media, Mohamed Salah might not be far from making the same choice.

The Egyptian revived his career upon joining Liverpool and became one of the biggest stars in world football. Numerous trophies and goals led Salah to become the primary star of the team.

However, legendary Liverpool figure Jan Molby suggests that it wouldn’t be surprising if Liverpool sells Salah to interested buyers from Saudi Arabia.

A transfer is unlikely to be realized during the winter transfer window, but such an outcome is probable in the summer. Interested parties will need to part with over €200 million for Salah’s services, and according to the former Reds player, that money could be well-invested in building a new team, similar to the case of Coutinho’s sale to Barcelona.

“He could stay at Liverpool and become an even bigger legend and produce even more impressive numbers, or he could go somewhere else where he feels at home and show people what he’s capable of. It will be interesting to see. Whether you think Mohamed Salah is a great player or not, he’s got great stats. He’s always available to play, scores goals, provides assists. It will be interesting. A big figure will be needed to take him away from Anfield,” said Molby to “Goal,” continuing:

“If those are the numbers, and with what’s left on his contract, it probably makes sense. We’ve seen how successfully they’ve used money in the past – the money from selling Coutinho and what that did to the team. Maybe they could do something similar if they decide the offer is too good to refuse,” Molby concluded.
