Robert Lewandowski kept his LaLiga and Pichichi Trophy hopes alive with two goals in Barcelona’s dominant 4-1 win over Girona, helping restore a three-point lead at the top of the table.
Barcelona started strong, with Fermín López and Lewandowski both testing Girona’s defence early. A potential penalty shout on López was checked by VAR, but only a free kick was awarded on the edge of the box. That came to nothing, but Barcelona continued to push. Araújo’s powerful header was saved well by Gazzaniga, and just before half-time, a free kick from the edge of the area was flicked on by Lamine Yamal and finished by Ladislav Krejčí to give Barcelona the lead.
Girona equalised eight minutes into the second half after Araújo lost possession. Daley Blind picked up the loose ball and played a smart pass to Arnaut Danjuma, who outpaced the defence and scored.

Barcelona responded quickly. García hit the post, and shortly after, a well-worked move ended with López heading across goal for Lewandowski to nod in his 24th league goal of the season. He scored again soon after, this time finishing calmly into the far corner after a quick counter-attack led by De Jong.
Ferran Torres then added a fourth, finishing off a Gerard Martin assist to seal the same 4-1 scoreline as their previous meeting. Barcelona were in full control throughout, and with this result, they stay in pole position for their 28th league title. Girona, meanwhile, will want to move on fast after another tough outing on the road.
